Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated team lead/aspiring team lead to join our dynamic Trauma and Orthopaedic team. You will work closely alongside the clinical lead occupational therapist for general surgery. The service is dynamic and offers a challenging clinical environment for a confident and skilled occupational therapist.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee, coordinate, and develop the orthopaedic occupational therapy service at the Princess Royal University Hospital.
- Provide specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention of patients' occupational needs within the inpatient setting as clinically indicated.
- Carry a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff.
- Maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others in complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Identify areas for service development and projects for the team to complete.
- Proactively participate and motivate others to lead CPD sessions through journal clubs, in-service skills training, and peer support.
- Attend relevant meetings as a representative of the team and advise on service developments in line with government policy development.
