Occupational Therapist Team Lead

Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled occupational therapist to join our General Surgical team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. You will work closely alongside the clinical lead occupational therapist for Trauma & Orthopaedics, providing specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention of patients' occupational needs within the inpatient setting.
Main Responsibilities
As the team lead OT, you will oversee, coordinate, and develop the surgical occupational therapy service at the Princess Royal University Hospital. You will:
- Carry a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs, using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff, developing their clinical, teaching, and managerial skills.
- Maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others in complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Identify areas for service development and projects for your team to complete, promoting a forward-thinking approach.
- Participate in and motivate others to lead CPD sessions through journal clubs, in-service skills training, and peer support.
- Represent the team at relevant meetings and advise on service developments in line with government policy.
