Job Overview

Position Objective:

To fulfill the responsibilities of a Team Leader, ensuring comprehensive support for staff involved in the management of post-anaesthetic care for all patients within the recovery area.

To facilitate the effective flow of patients and theatre operations, ensuring the seamless execution of theatre schedules, while overseeing and guiding the team within the department. This role includes teaching and mentoring pre-registration students, unqualified personnel, registered nurses, ODPs, and non-nursing staff.

To maintain current knowledge and provide support to all recovery staff with the assistance of clinical leaders and theatre management.

Ensure a safe environment for patients undergoing acute and chronic pain management, post-operative procedures, and post-anaesthetic care.

Provide expert clinical and professional guidance as the lead member of the post-anaesthetic care team.

Act as a role model, leading a team and offering skilled support to the post-anaesthetic care team.

Assume managerial responsibilities for a designated post-anaesthetic care area and its personnel, collaborating with relevant disciplines and providing specialized advice.

Foster an environment conducive to high-quality care and effective communication among staff, patients, and visitors.
