Clinical Informatics Nursing Leader

Position Overview
The Clinical Informatics Nursing Leader will play a pivotal role within the Leadership Team, serving as a vital nursing and clinical consultant for initiatives within the Improvement and Transformation Team, as well as the implementation of Electronic Patient Records. This position requires active collaboration with nursing and Allied Health Professional (AHP) groups throughout digital advancements, focusing on the development and execution of strategies that foster engagement and communication with these stakeholders. As a key member of the Clinical Informatics Team, this role will advocate for the nursing and AHP professions, ensuring that the interests of all Trust personnel and the needs of patients are adequately represented in both current and emerging digital solutions.
The Clinical Informatics Nursing Leader will complete the Clinical Safety course and will contribute to ensuring that all clinically relevant developments adhere to safety standards, governance protocols, and the legal requirements outlined in DCB 0129 / DCB 0160 (Health and Social Care Act 2012).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Nursing Information Officer in guaranteeing the clinical safety and compliance of digital systems, aligning processes, training, and policies with nursing-related standards, protocols, and guidelines established by the Trust or nationally by NMC/NHS England and other regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Information Officer and the Electronic Patient Record board to oversee the scope and advancement of nursing and AHP initiatives within the Trust's Electronic Patient Record system and broader digital improvement efforts.
- Identify and report clinical risks associated with the Electronic Patient Record, taking necessary actions to mitigate any identified risks and issues.
- Act as a deputy for the Chief Nursing Information Officer as needed, representing the role in meetings and forums within the Trust, Integrated Care Board, and at a national level.
- Additional responsibilities as outlined in the job description and person specification.
