Position Overview

Join the dynamic team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust during a pivotal phase of growth and enhancement in our medical and nursing workforce. We are embarking on significant improvements in our hospital facilities, particularly within the emergency department, and collaborating with our partners to create cohesive patient care pathways. We are looking for dedicated clinicians to influence the future of Acute and Same Day Emergency Care, contributing to our evolving clinical framework.

Key Responsibilities

Our acute medical services are enhanced by a co-located Urgent Treatment Centre, NHS 111 walk-in services, and a Same Day Emergency Care Unit. These departments are driven by a team of motivated professionals committed to delivering exceptional standards of patient safety and care. Clinical governance is at the heart of our operations, ensuring that patient care, safety, and quality remain our top priorities.

The Acute Medical Unit at QEQM Hospital consists of two short-stay units (A & B), positioned next to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. You will participate in a weekday on-call rota of approximately 1:10 (Category A = 5%) and will have a weekend commitment of around 1 in 18, with no days off in lieu for weekend work.

About Our Organization

As one of the largest hospital trusts in England, we operate three acute hospitals and various community sites, catering to a local population of approximately 700,000. We also offer specialized services across Kent and are on an exciting journey of transformation.

With the establishment of a new Medical School at the heart of our community, we are focused on research, clinical leadership, and fostering a rewarding and friendly workplace, making this an ideal time to join our team.
