Position Overview

As part of our ongoing workforce enhancement initiative, we are seeking to recruit Consultants in Emergency Medicine to join our dynamic Emergency Departments.

We provide our consultants with the flexibility of a 10 or 12 PA job plan (or 9DCC/3SPA), which includes a versatile shift schedule from 08:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and 8 hours during weekends. We strive to accommodate specific individual preferences whenever feasible, including the possibility of fixed weekdays off or part-time roles.

Key Responsibilities

A new medical institution has recently been established in the region, offering 100 training positions annually. We are collaborating closely with academic partners and other healthcare organizations to realize this vision and warmly welcome candidates interested in combined academic and clinical roles. We are committed to fostering the professional and academic growth of our consultant team, which includes support for pursuing postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or MSc, as well as engaging in academic research.

Our team of emergency medicine consultants is bolstered by a robust EM workforce, comprising 25 Middle Grade/Specialty Doctors, alongside higher trainees and ACCS posts. We actively promote the development of our junior workforce by providing special interest roles, a CESR completion pathway, and a group of trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners supported by our Acute Care Nurse Consultants.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration
  • FRCEM or equivalent
  • CCT/CESR Specialist Registration or eligibility within 6 months of the interview
  • Minimum English Level 2 (GCSE grade C or equivalent), ILETS, or graduate of a UK Medical School

Desirable

  • Distinctions, scholarships, prizes
  • Additional degrees, BSc, MSc, MD
  • Dual accreditation in ITU/PHEM/PEM
  • Instructor status in advanced life support courses.
  • Leadership and Teaching Qualification
