Job Summary

The Practice Nurse Specialist is a key member of the Primary Care Team and will be expected to provide comprehensive primary care services to registered patients and work effectively with all colleagues within the team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assessing, implementing, developing, and evaluating programs of care for patients with chronic disease, minor acute illnesses, and contraception, in line with relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Clinical risk assessments and formulations of management plans.
  • Supervision and teaching for other staff.
  • Immunizations and vaccinations.
  • Assist in developing local guidance and protocols.
  • Clinical assessments, including history taking, and providing care for those with a range of illnesses/conditions.

Job Requirements
  • Qualified RGN.
  • Experience of working in a Secure setting or primary care field with transferable skills.
  • Desirable: Additional qualification in a relevant field, experience of leadership role/supervision/training.
