Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Learning Disability Nurse to join our Central and West Lancashire Children's Community Learning Disability Team. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to address the health, psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs of children and young people with a learning disability and/or Autism.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals who have a learning disability/complex needs on an individual and group basis.
  • Support the assessment and management of risk for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Supervise and manage staff to ensure high-quality services are provided.
  • Contribute to the development of forward-thinking services that work in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families, and carers.

Requirements
  • Part 5 or 14 of NMC register with 2-3 years' experience as a registered nurse or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel around the district and support people with learning disabilities/complex needs.
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and assessment/management of risk.
