Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary Financial Crime Risk Manager, collaborating with senior leaders to oversee and mitigate financial crime risks while ensuring compliance with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Work closely with the executive team to proactively identify, assess, and manage financial crime risks, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and reporting.
  • Drive the establishment of a robust Financial Crime risk and control framework, ensuring alignment with the bank's policies and standards.
  • Partner with business units to manage financial crime risks, providing insights and guidance on issues related to anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud, and other regulatory concerns.
  • Offer expert advice on financial crime risks, ensuring that all threats are documented and managed within a solid control framework.
  • Lead financial crime risk assessments and assurance activities to ensure compliance with policies and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Crime Policy Team to translate regulatory policies into practical systems and training.
  • Present financial crime risk performance metrics to governance committees for oversight and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Significant leadership experience in financial services, particularly in financial crime roles, with a solid grasp of banking products and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of digital banking and product management.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders to implement risk management processes, with the ability to influence and present effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial crime risk management frameworks, including RCSA and risk reporting to governance committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed, risk-based decisions using expert judgment.
  • Experience in defining compliance standards and leading risk assessments.
  • Capability to design and enhance risk processes that meet day-to-day management and governance needs.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in communicating risk insights and preparing risk reports and presentations.
  • Understanding of the risks associated with the role and their implications for the organization and stakeholders.
