Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Performance Partner at Metro Bank, you will:

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across various business units to manage financial crime risks and uphold a robust control environment that aligns with the bank's risk appetite.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to proactively identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report on financial crime risks.
  • Drive the implementation of a comprehensive 1st Line of Defence (LoD) Financial Crime risk and control framework, ensuring alignment with the bank's policies and standards.
  • Partner with your business area to manage financial crime risks effectively, providing insights and opinions on risk profiles related to anti-money laundering, sanctions, fraud, and other regulatory concerns.
  • Offer expert Financial Crime risk advice and guidance to ensure that threats and risks are well-documented and supported by a strong control framework.
  • Lead financial crime risk reviews and assurance activities to verify compliance with policies aimed at mitigating risks.
  • Collaborate with the 2nd LoD Financial Crime Policy Team to translate policies into actionable systems, processes, and training.
  • Report on financial crime risk performance through various governance committees.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive leadership experience in financial services, particularly in financial crime roles (1st or 2nd LoD), with a solid understanding of banking products, processes, and risk management frameworks.
  • A comprehensive understanding of digital banking and product management.
  • Experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders to implement risk management processes, along with strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Applied knowledge of financial crime risk management frameworks, including RCSA, IUMs, Thematic Risk Reviews, and risk reporting.
  • Proficiency in making risk-based decisions using expert judgment.
  • The ability to define and assess compliance with risk policies and standards, along with experience in planning and leading risk assessments.
  • Experience in designing and improving risk processes that meet day-to-day management and governance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying risk insights and opinions across the organization.
