About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Professional to join our Social Housing team at Birketts. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional administration support to our fee earners, ensuring the smooth operation of our Social Housing practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and assist our Social Housing Partners, Legal Directors, Team Leaders, and Paralegals in their daily tasks and projects.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date client and contact information on our firm's database.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of our firm's policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support for file opening, general file management, file invoice preparation, and case management.
  • Assist with dictation, court bundle preparation, and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Proofread and edit documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Manage diaries, process expense claims, and arrange travel and business development arrangements.
  • Provide cover and support to other secretaries within the team as needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and meets deadlines.

Requirements

  • Previous administration and/or secretarial experience is essential.
  • Experience working with Housing Associations or Local Authorities is welcome but not essential.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent spelling and punctuation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and liaise with internal and external contacts.
  • Discretion and a positive, enthusiastic approach to teamwork.
  • Good telephone manner and a flexible, motivated, and proactive working style.
  • Self-motivated and able to use initiative to provide proactive support to the Social Housing team.
  • Good organizational skills, able to prioritize and make decisions in a pressurized environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
