Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Revenue and Benefits Assessor to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our Revenues and Benefits department, you will be responsible for processing housing and council tax changes, UC cases, reviews, and new claims, ensuring excellent accuracy and meeting KPIs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers via letter, email, and telephone, ensuring delivery against service contractual requirements.
  • Meet deadlines and standards while performing duties with minimal support.
  • Complete high levels of workload consistently, adhering to Right Time Indicator, Right Benefit Indicator, and Subsidy regulations.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff and colleagues.
  • Share best practices with colleagues and lead update sessions to improve team skills.
  • Maintain knowledge through publications, briefing notes, and bulletins, and attend external training sessions.
  • Contribute to a positive attitude within the Business Centre, taking on additional duties as required, and contribute ideas for improvement.
  • Regularly exceed minimum contractual standards for productivity and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Experience with Northgate/Academy/IBS (Civica) Systems.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Housing Benefits/Council Tax.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach.
  • IT competence.
  • Self-motivation.
