About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Revenues and Benefits Assessor to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our Revenues and Benefits department, you will play a crucial role in processing Housing / Council tax changes, UC cases, Reviews, and new claims, following established procedures and working to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with exceptional accuracy.

Main Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deal directly with customers to ensure delivery against service contractual requirements, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Productivity and Accuracy: Meet standards or deadlines required, performing all duties with minimal support, and completing high levels of workload consistently in line with the Right Time Indicator, The Right Benefit Indicator, and Subsidy regulations.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor junior staff and colleagues, sharing best practices and leading update sessions to improve team skills.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge through publications, briefing notes, and bulletins, and attend external training sessions to improve team skills.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Contribute to a constructive and positive attitude within the Business Centre, taking on additional duties as required, and contributing ideas to assist improvements.
  • Quality and Excellence: Regularly exceed minimum contractual standards for productivity and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience of using Northgate / Academy / IBS (Civica) Systems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Customer Service and Communication Skills: Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Housing Benefits and Council Tax: Working knowledge of Housing Benefits and Council Tax.
  • IT Competence: IT competent.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated.
