We are excited to present an opportunity within our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service for a Safeguarding Manager. This role is pivotal in fostering a comprehensive safeguarding culture. We seek an experienced and qualified Social Worker who possesses outstanding leadership capabilities and a strong background in safeguarding practices.

This position is integral to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and involves collaboration with the Operations Leadership Team to share effective practices. The successful candidate will elevate the standards of safeguarding practices, ensuring our service users receive safe, effective, and responsive care tailored to their needs.

This role is hands-on, allowing you to make a significant impact on our services and the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding, the postholder will:

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in safeguarding, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Drive a culture of high-quality service provision.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and driven Social Worker, skilled in building relationships with those we support. We are looking for someone with:

  • A valid qualification as a Social Worker (BASW, DipSW, CQSW, CSS) and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in navigating complex health, social care, or criminal justice environments.
  • Proven leadership experience in safeguarding services, particularly in substance misuse contexts.
  • A track record of supervising registered Social Workers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
