Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional Safety and Welfare Team Leader to join our thriving Student Experience team at Stoke On Trent College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding and behaviour matters, providing support, advice, and expertise to students and staff.
  • Line manage a small team of Mentors and Behaviour Support Officers, motivating and leading them to improve behaviour and standards throughout the organisation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive and safe learning environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure the well-being of students.
  • Collaborate with the Safeguarding Team to ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on safeguarding and behaviour matters, ensuring they are equipped to handle complex situations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 standard qualification or equivalent.
  • Safeguarding qualification.
  • Experience working with young people in Further/Secondary education or Health and Social Care.
  • Ability to problem-solve, make balanced judgements, and manage high-pressure situations.
