We are pleased to present an exceptional opportunity within our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service for a Safeguarding Services Manager . This role is pivotal in fostering a comprehensive safeguarding culture within our organization. We seek a seasoned Qualified Social Worker, equipped with outstanding leadership capabilities and a strong background in safeguarding practices.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Head of Safeguarding, the successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring rigorous compliance within our service, aligning with external regulatory standards. Collaboration with the Operations Leadership Team will be essential to share best practices and enhance service delivery. You will play a crucial role in elevating the standards of safeguarding practices, ensuring that our service users receive safe, effective, and responsive care tailored to their needs.

This is a hands-on position, offering the chance to make a significant impact on our services and the individuals we support.

Essential Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and driven Social Worker, capable of establishing meaningful connections with those we assist, treating them with respect and dignity. We are looking for proven experience in leadership roles within safeguarding services, particularly in the substance misuse sector and complex organizational settings. As a visible and motivational leader, you will cultivate a cohesive team environment. A passion for our mission and a proactive approach are essential.

To excel in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a qualification as a Fully Qualified Social Worker (BASW, DipSW, CQSW, CSS) and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrate experience working across multifaceted health, social care, or criminal justice environments, collaborating with various statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Exhibit a track record of providing leadership in safeguarding services.
  • Have experience managing and leading drug and alcohol, mental health, or similar services.
  • Show evidence of supervising registered Social Workers effectively.
  • Possess the ability to forge strong relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
