ABOUT YOU

In the role of Merchandising Assistant, you will support the Merchandisers in the strategic planning and trading of our brand. Your contributions will assist the broader Merchandising team in the effective management of all merchandising functions, aimed at delivering a product range that maximizes sales, inventory, and profitability. Your friendly and proactive nature makes you a dependable collaborator, enabling you to build strong working relationships across various departments to drive growth and enhance efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Merchandiser in collecting and organizing pertinent information to aid in the range planning process and in-season trading.
  • Collaborating closely with the Buying team to track deliveries, addressing any issues with the Merchandiser and proposing solutions as necessary.
  • Working alongside Buying to develop and manage capsule collections for the hardlines department under the guidance of the Merchandiser.
  • Recommending replenishment for products based on rate of sale and stock cover.
  • Updating and revising line cards under the direction of the Merchandiser, suggesting strategies to enhance or mitigate risks for the department.
  • Revising WSSIs for key departments under the supervision of the Merchandiser.
  • Taking full responsibility for daily stock monitoring across internal and marketplace channels.
  • Assisting the Merchandisers in prioritizing and managing the tasks of the MAA.
  • Supporting the broader Buying & Merchandising Team in weekly Trade Meetings by providing necessary documents and reports.
  • Fostering positive cross-functional relationships across departments and with external partners (warehouse, suppliers, trading, marketing) to build trust and promote growth.
  • Staying informed about competitor activities and communicating any significant findings or concerns to the Merchandiser to support informed commercial decisions.
  • Performing any additional duties as required by the Merchandising team, including performance reporting and data management.

Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate for the Merchandising Assistant position should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in merchandising.
  • A genuine passion for retail and a commitment to developing within a Merchandising role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Robust numerical and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Driven, motivated, and ambitious.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment and perform effectively under pressure.

Location: This position is based in our office, operating under a hybrid model of 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days working remotely, with flexibility required as necessary.
