About the Role

As a key player in the merchandising department, you will oversee the timely placement of stock to meet strategic objectives. Collaborating closely with the buying team, your focus will be on developing a product range that aligns with brand identity while achieving financial goals. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in adapting to various market scenarios, and your proficiency with numbers will enhance communication with both internal teams and external partners. You will report directly to the Head of Merchandising, managing an Assistant Merchandiser and receiving support from a Merchandising Assistant.

Core Responsibilities

In your role as a Merchandiser, your primary duties will include:

  • Collaborating with Buying, Design, and Product Technology teams to curate seasonal product ranges for the softlines category.
  • Creating category budgets informed by historical sales data and market trends.
  • Assisting buyers in establishing a diverse product range that adheres to a structured pricing strategy.
  • Strategically managing seasonal intake and open-to-buy (OTB) levels for optimal performance.
  • Maintaining and updating category WSSI reports, providing insights and recommendations to the Head of Merchandising.
  • Supporting direct sourcing initiatives and margin achievement efforts alongside the buying team.
  • Establishing and monitoring departmental KPIs such as revenue, markdowns, margins, average selling price (ASP), and profits in collaboration with the Head of Merchandising.
  • Developing and executing promotional plans across the business.
  • Fostering strong working relationships within the organization and with external suppliers.
  • Continuously analyzing sales data and responding proactively to trends.
  • Ensuring adherence to the critical path across all business functions each season.
  • Preparing for and participating in weekly trade discussions.
  • Assisting the Head of Merchandising and Merchandising Assistant with logistical planning and inquiries.
  • Providing support to the partnerships team with range planning and sales analytics for concessions and marketplaces.
  • Mentoring the Assistant Merchandiser to aid in their professional growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar merchandising capacity.
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • A well-rounded commercial, strategic, and creative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to cultivate positive relationships at all organizational levels.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office.
