About the Position:

The role involves supporting the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) by taking a lead in project and contract management. This includes identifying opportunities for development and property acquisition to facilitate the creation of new affordable housing as part of extensive projects across the county. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing all aspects of project management, both independently and collaboratively, to ensure the timely and budget-conscious delivery of new affordable homes.

  • Experience in financial management, particularly in budget oversight
  • Adept at managing a varied workload while meeting deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement all facets of project and contract management within substantial budgets, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines.
  • Manage project and contract risks by maintaining comprehensive risk registers, cost trackers, and payment processes, while taking necessary actions as part of the risk management strategy.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to senior management, including the Development Manager and Director, providing accurate project status updates to support informed decision-making.
  • Foster effective communication and engagement with local stakeholders, including politicians, community councils, and statutory bodies, to promote successful project delivery.
  • Play a pivotal role in the Council's procurement processes for the tendering and commissioning of new build consultancy and contracts.
  • Conduct financial and design viability assessments to maximize grant funding opportunities, ensuring compliance with statutory design and regulatory standards while maintaining budgetary and financial sustainability.
