Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association, that offers nearly 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale to people where need is at its greatest in Mid and South Wales, working in several local authority areas.

Newydd Maintenance Ltd is built on an in-house contractor model, designed to drive quality customer services, whilst achieving substantial planned growth and expansion, potentially outside of the group.  Newydd Maintenance Ltd is a subsidiary company which provides maintenance services to Newydd Housing Association.

Location of Work

This post is based from our office in Tongwynlais, Cardiff. The role will involve you travelling and working in the Valleys regions, with occasional travel to Newtown, Powys.  

About You 

The Lead Multi Skilled Operative will cover all aspects of the Multi Skilled Operative role plus additional Lead responsibilities. The Multi Skilled Operative responsibilities include carrying out maintenance and improvements to our properties and to deliver a high-quality repairs service whilst maintaining our homes to the highest standard.

In addition, the Lead role will also include assisting with onsite assessments and inspections, identifying training needs and being the first point of contact for customer feedback. You will also provide cover for the Maintenance Supervisor when required and be a role model for the maintenance team by working to improve efficiencies and maximise service delivery.

Previous experience in a repairs or maintenance role is essential and you will also need a broad knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of building maintenance and repairs including general plumbing, carpentry, tiling and patch plastering.

This is a demanding and challenging delivery role, and you should enjoy working under your own initiative and managing a busy workload, whilst also being a team player with great customer service and communication skills.
