Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to become a vital member of our Cellular Pathology team.

The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in managing medical schedules to proactively identify challenges and implement effective solutions to rota-related issues.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing upcoming rotas and planning strategically to minimize vacant shifts. This position requires independent management, necessitating sound judgment and the ability to evaluate options to address staffing challenges. You will also be tasked with tracking and managing Histology slides, blocks, and reports.

Key Responsibilities

- Efficiently handle annual leave and study leave requests from all levels of medical staff, ensuring compliance with the sign-off process and Trust policies.

- Monitor and maintain accurate records of sickness, study, and annual leave requests for junior doctors, consultants, and BMS Reporters, ensuring adequate coverage to meet service requirements during all leave periods.

- Develop and implement Consultant rotas using Health Roster, collaborating closely with Departmental and Operational Leads within Pathology to ensure equitable distribution among staff.

- Serve as the primary contact for all matters related to Health Roster and rotas.

- Verify patient details for accuracy and prevent duplication.

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated drive, energy, and resilience to achieve results.

Essential Skills

  • GCSE Grade C or above in English, Maths, and Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated initiative and experience to work autonomously.
  • Experience collaborating with medical professionals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable Skills

  • Qualification in Medical Terminology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing complex rotas.
  • Familiarity with Cancer Targets.
