Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Administrative Coordinator to join our Vascular Department within the Surgical Centre. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of administrative professionals who manage the Consultant's schedule and provide essential support to ensure seamless operations with other healthcare personnel.

Candidates should possess a solid understanding of best practices and operational systems within the administrative field, along with knowledge of Health & Safety protocols and a commitment to confidentiality and data protection standards.

This role offers an opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the daily management of a dynamic administrative office.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize a diverse range of tasks are crucial, as well as excellent interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively with various staff members across all levels.

Please note that this position entails working 10 hours per week as part of a job share arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will be an integral part of a team that organizes the Consultant's schedule and provides vital support to ensure efficient service delivery. Responsibilities include producing precise clinical and general correspondence, frequently utilizing complex and sensitive medical terminology through audio transcription and self-generated documents. The role also involves responding to phone inquiries from concerned and distressed patients, addressing sensitive and challenging questions with care and professionalism.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Essential

  • RSA Stage 3 typing or equivalent qualification
  • 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4 (or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other IT skills acquired through training and practical experience

Desirable

  • AMSPAR certification
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration
  • ECDL certification

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Experience in audio typing
  • Previous experience in an administrative or personal assistant role
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Customer service experience

Desirable

  • Experience in a medical administrative role
  • Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems (PAS)
