We operate across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and Derby, focusing on family preservation services aimed at reunifying children and young people with their families and diverting them from entering care.

The ASYE Programme

Polaris Community recognizes the importance of supporting newly qualified social workers. We offer a robust organizational commitment to staff learning and development, ultimately aiming to enhance outcomes for children, young people, and families.

Our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) program is a 12-month structured initiative designed to help NQSWs develop their professional competence and confidence. This program aligns with the Post-Qualifying Standards (PQS) and the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) at the ASYE level, ensuring that newly qualified social workers receive comprehensive support during their transition into practice.

NQSWs participating in the ASYE program are expected to create a portfolio showcasing their progress throughout the year. They will also engage in specialized ASYE training and participate in action learning sets.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of case responsibilities, overseeing and supporting the delivery of intervention services to children, young people, and families. Ensure all work aligns with principles of equality, diversity, and rights for all individuals involved in the service.
  • Respond promptly to referrals or service requests from Local Authority partners.
  • Develop, monitor, and review service plans tailored to the assessed needs of children, young people, and their families, collaborating effectively with other agencies.
  • Refer children, young people, and their families to appropriate specialist or universal services to ensure their diverse needs are met.
  • Contribute to the provision of regular reports/contract monitoring updates to Local Authority partners.
  • Support the Service Manager in achieving the Key Performance Indicators for the service.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BSc (Hons) Social Work, CQSW)
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting is desirable.
