Clinical Governance and Patient Safety Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Governance and Patient Safety Lead to join our team at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical governance team, you will play a crucial role in promoting quality, patient safety, and a culture of openness and shared learning within our organization.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement, with experience in leading clinical governance and patient safety initiatives. You will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety and quality of care.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing clinical governance and patient safety policies and procedures
- Leading clinical governance and patient safety initiatives to improve quality and safety of care
- Collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to identify and mitigate risks to patient safety
- Providing education and training to staff on clinical governance and patient safety
- Conducting audits and reviews to ensure compliance with clinical governance and patient safety standards

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who meets the following criteria:
- Degree-level qualification and evidence of continuing professional development
- Postgraduate qualification to Master's level or significant experience in clinical practice, involvement in developing practice, clinical risk management, and/or clinical audit/QI
- Qualification or CPD relevant to patient safety/clinical governance/quality improvement
- Masters-level qualification in a related topic
