About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Support Officer to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As an Operational Support Officer, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our clinical teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Clinical Services Manager and clinical team leads, including managing rosters, sickness, annual leave, mandatory training, appraisals, and development.
  • Support the ward clerks with dealing with telephone enquiries and provide administrative assistance as required.
  • Coordinate Matman and Linen stock for both wards, including ordering, stock management, and supplier management.
  • Lead on Care Opinion and arrange for the yearly maintenance of equipment through BCAS.
  • Provide equipment quotes with support from clinical colleagues.
  • Support new starters at Alton hospital with the transition into their new role, including start dates, ID badges, smartcards, and liaison with the Workforce Orientation Officer.

Person Specification
  • GCSE level education, including Maths and English.
  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of standard MS Office packages, including Word and Outlook.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, particularly in organizational systems and business administration.
  • Evidence of in-depth experience in an administrative role.
