A prominent organization in the health and beauty sector is seeking a dedicated Production Operations Supervisor to enhance their team. This role entails the effective and secure management of the production department during assigned shifts. You will oversee high-speed, multi-labor, and automated production lines within a continuous operation environment.
Shift Schedule: This position operates on a night shift basis, following a 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on for the first week, and then 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off for the second week.
Key Responsibilities- Assume full responsibility for all production activities during shifts, including collaboration with support departments.
- Possess a solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and partner with the Quality Team to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
- Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analyses for incidents, ensuring timely closure of reports.
- Implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize incidents, aiming to maintain a Right First Time (RFT) target of over 98%.
- Ensure all team members adhere to packing specifications, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide flexible leadership and support to achieve high operational performance levels.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Team to prioritize production planning and facilitate preventative maintenance.
- Work in conjunction with Supply Chain Management to meet production schedules and eliminate delays, ensuring output delivery meets or exceeds a target of 97%.
- Coach, mentor, and develop your production team, implementing succession planning and fostering a competent staff environment.
- Identify and promote development opportunities for production line staff to meet quality standards and output targets.
- Engage with production teams to implement improvements using Gemba Solutions.
- Collaborate with various departments, including Quality, Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, and Manufacturing, to minimize delays and eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Ensure accountability for stock and waste through real-time stock transactions and completion of production work orders.
- Manage the staffing of production lines according to product standards and specifications to fulfill weekly production plans.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, fostering team development through performance reviews and regular discussions.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by senior management.
Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment is essential. Candidates should possess:
- Proven experience in supervising or managing in a complex, multicultural, manual, and automated setting with fluctuating workloads.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), QMS, investigations, root cause analysis, incident reports, and CAPAs.
- Proficiency in using computerized information systems for data retrieval, updates, and input.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, flexible environment, demonstrating prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and analysis, with a focus on managing key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Demonstrated capability to plan, measure, and manage production performance in a complex FMCG context.
