Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, including health and safety, membership, and event management.
  • Oversee food and beverage operations within the Dorchester Suite, including hotel breakfast services and high-volume outdoor events.

Accountability:

  • Manage customer interactions regarding product offerings and revenue generation.

Support:

  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences and manage the overall profitability of the club.

Consultation: Involved in pricing, packages, and future event planning.

Job Purpose: Lead the events team in the design, management, and execution of events that exceed customer expectations, meet quality standards, and maximize revenue.

Key Duties:

  • Design and manage events from initial inquiry to booking, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure all client requirements are met.
  • Identify new business opportunities and collaborate with management to convert inquiries into revenue.
  • Promote the venue to attract new business, utilizing central marketing support and outreach plans.
  • Manage the events team, developing sales and marketing strategies for future business growth.
  • Conduct competitor research to enhance business strategies and capture market share.
  • Follow up with clients post-event to assess satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Administer financial transactions related to events and liaise with the accounts department.
  • Implement and uphold health and safety policies and practices.
  • Ensure all events are managed through the designated booking system in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments to plan and promote club-based and external events.
  • Coordinate with the Dorchester Suites team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment needs and facility improvements.
  • Support recruitment, training, and performance management of the team.
  • Oversee staffing and scheduling in collaboration with management.
  • Ensure adherence to revenue and cost control procedures.
  • Plan and approve marketing and promotional activities for the department.
  • Attend departmental meetings and complete additional assignments as directed.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the company's values.
  • Assist with feedback initiatives related to the department.
  • Perform duty management shifts as required.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a related field (event planning, catering, group sales, etc.) is preferred, along with relevant experience.

Licenses and Special Requirements:

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • CPR, First Aid, or AED certification
