Job Overview

The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU) is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join our All Age Continuing Care (AACC) service in Bromley. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our service, which includes a diverse team of managers, clinical leads, nurses, and support officers dedicated to fulfilling statutory requirements and managing the AACC budget.

The AACC service collaborates closely with the Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit to provide a comprehensive Partnership Delivery Service (PDS). This clinical-led initiative focuses on delivering essential nurse-led assessments and reviews, aiding in the completion of Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Decision Support Tools (DSTs), and offering additional administrative support services.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate effectively within the AACC team, providing guidance to both internal and external stakeholders in processing NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) applications.
  • Demonstrate initiative and work independently while being an integral part of the broader business and administration team, taking on specific responsibilities as assigned.
  • Follow established processes, prioritize workload efficiently, and exhibit proactive problem-solving skills to meet the demands of the role.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact in the office, showcasing proficient ICT skills, including minute-taking, word processing, database management, and diary coordination.
  • Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach to meet tight deadlines, managing a variety of routine and non-routine administrative tasks to ensure an efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintenance on relevant systems, adhering to standard operating procedures within the team.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

As a Business Support Officer, you will:

  • Deliver a high standard of administrative support within the Bromley AACC team, promoting excellent customer service and fostering effective working relationships.
  • Manage patient information data entry, collaborating with both administrative and clinical team members.
  • Work autonomously while also being a cooperative team member, demonstrating a willingness to assist colleagues and fulfill allocated tasks.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Utilize your ICT proficiency to manage office tasks, including minute-taking, word processing, and database input.
