Business Support Officer

Position Summary

The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU) is seeking a dedicated Business Support Officer to join our All Age Continuing Care (AACC) team in Bromley. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our services, which are designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) while managing the AACC budget effectively.

The AACC service is supported by a collaborative partnership with Midlands & Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU), which provides a clinical-led service that includes critical assessments and reviews. The Business Support Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting these functions and enhancing administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality administrative support within the AACC team, fostering positive relationships and excellent customer service.
  • Managing and inputting data into the patient information database, collaborating with both administrative and clinical team members.
  • Working independently and as part of a cohesive business and administration team, demonstrating a proactive approach to assigned tasks.
  • Following established processes, prioritizing workloads, and exercising initiative to meet the demands of the role.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact within the office, requiring proficient ICT skills, including minute-taking, word processing, database management, and diary coordination.

Required Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, with a strong understanding of various administrative procedures and computerized data systems.
  • A Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • The ability to work autonomously, managing and prioritizing workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
