Senior Clinical Haematology Consultant

Position Overview
The role entails functioning as a Senior Clinical Haematologist, with the autonomy to manage patient care effectively. This position involves collaboration with a team of experienced consultants and junior medical staff to address various Haematological disorders. Responsibilities include overseeing both inpatient and outpatient care, with a focus on diagnostic Haematology, including blood film analysis and bone marrow evaluations. Participation in a 1:10 on-call rota, covering both weekdays and weekends, is a requirement. The position also encompasses providing consultative Haematology services, offering expert advice to healthcare professionals across different disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with senior colleagues to deliver comprehensive services, including participation in the out-of-hours on-call service for the department.
2. Provide telephone consultation and support for major cases as needed.
3. Engage in medical audits and research initiatives alongside senior colleagues.
4. Ensure compliance with clinical governance standards and facilitate communication for hospital staff involved in patient care.
5. Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, contributing to their professional development.
6. Dedicate time to teaching, examination, and accreditation responsibilities for junior medical personnel.
7. Actively participate in the management and development of the Division in collaboration with the Divisional Manager and senior colleagues.

Inpatient Facilities
We offer a dedicated 22-bed inpatient unit, providing specialized care for patients undergoing induction treatment for Acute Leukemia and salvage treatment for Lymphoma.
