Role Summary:
The Facilities Management Graduate Trainee position offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to immerse themselves in the world of Facilities Management (FM) within a structured and regulated research and development setting. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of FM practices, particularly in environments that include laboratories and specialized facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on essential tasks such as asset management, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) tools for data entry, analysis, reporting, and process enhancement.
  • Provide helpdesk support through the CAFM system, managing incoming requests and prioritizing tasks according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Coordinate client and team meetings, manage information flow, and utilize reporting tools like Power BI for feedback collection and response management.
  • Conduct service audits in partnership with the Technical Compliance Manager and FM providers, focusing on soft services such as cleaning and security, and leverage audit findings for progress tracking.
  • Analyze performance metrics, generate recommendations, and compile comprehensive reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A degree (or equivalent) with a preference for a 2:2 classification or higher, ideally in a business or technical discipline.
  • Proficient in technology and IT applications.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Proven innovative thinking to enhance processes.
  • Able to collaborate effectively across various teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols.
  • Adaptability to work within a controlled environment with strict safety and quality standards.

Employment Type: Permanent (consideration for part-time applicants with a minimum of 24 hours per week)
Compensation: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on experience
