Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct the establishment and enhancement of medication management pharmacy technician and assistant services.
  2. Formulate and execute policies, procedures, and operational practices to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of these services.
  3. Collaborate with pharmacists to align medication management activities with the needs of clinical teams.
  4. Manage and mentor pharmacy technicians and assistants, ensuring their professional development.
  5. Ensure quality assurance for the medication management services, including the creation and monitoring of quality metrics.
  6. Actively participate in pharmacy technician management initiatives, leading practice improvements across the organization.
  7. Identify opportunities for service development within clinical areas and work with pharmacy leadership to implement changes.
  8. Oversee the monitoring and reporting of clinical pharmacy service activities, including training responsibilities.
  9. Facilitate effective communication regarding developments in medication management services throughout the organization.
  10. Contribute to the development and review of policies impacting the pharmacy department and ensure compliance.

Detailed Responsibilities
  1. Deliver a specialized, patient-focused technical pharmacy service.
  2. Provide expert advice on pharmacy services and medication management.
  3. Uphold the highest standards of customer service in interactions with patients and staff.
  4. Support medication management for individual patients within the scope of expertise.
  5. Promote pharmaceutical care across all patient interactions.
  6. Conduct medication management accreditations and assist in training.
  7. Resolve issues related to medication transfers and ensure accurate medication handling.
  8. Engage in cost-saving initiatives and promote the reuse of patient-owned medications.
  9. Ensure timely and efficient medication supply for patient discharges.
  10. Lead the daily operations of pharmacy services, including medication dispensing.
  11. Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding medication prescriptions.
  12. Ensure proper medication storage and management within clinical areas.
  13. Monitor and report on drug cost savings associated with service development.
  14. Participate in audits and research related to pharmacy services.
  15. Continue professional development and support the growth of team members.
Qualifications and Experience
