Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to oversee the medicines management service and lead the clinical pharmacy technician and assistant team across multiple hospital sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality clinical services within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Direct the development and provision of medicines management services, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  2. Formulate and execute policies, procedures, and operational practices to enhance the efficiency of pharmacy services.
  3. Collaborate with Care Group Pharmacists to align medicines management activities with clinical needs.
  4. Manage and mentor pharmacy technicians and assistants, fostering professional growth and competency.
  5. Ensure quality assurance measures are in place for pharmacy services, including the establishment of performance indicators.
  6. Actively participate in pharmacy management initiatives, driving best practices across the organization.
  7. Identify opportunities for service enhancement within clinical areas and collaborate with senior pharmacists to implement improvements.
  8. Oversee the monitoring and reporting of clinical pharmacy service activities, providing training as necessary.
  9. Facilitate effective communication regarding developments in medicines management across the pharmacy service.
  10. Contribute to the development and review of policies impacting the pharmacy department and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Completion of a General Pharmaceutical Council-approved integrated competency and knowledge-based qualification.
  • Management qualification or equivalent senior management experience.
Experience and Skills
  • Extensive post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy practice with demonstrated competencies.
  • Proven experience in team management and leadership.
  • Background in strategic planning and service development.
  • Experience in leading research and audit initiatives.
