About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our team in a Medium Secure setting at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and interventions to patients referred to and admitted to our hospital.
  • Formulate and implement plans for the psychological treatment and understanding of criminogenic factors related to a patient's mental health problems.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual.
  • Liaise closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, giving authoritative specialist advice on psychological aspects of care, contributing directly to assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Undertake risk assessment and contribute to risk management for individual patients and provide advice and training to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
  • Communicate in a skilled, persuasive, and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of patients, and monitor progress during the course of their multidisciplinary care.
Requirements
  • Honours degree in Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical or Forensic Psychology. Must be able to demonstrate eligibility for chartered status as a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist and be registered with the HCPC as a practitioner Psychologist.
  • Relevant experience developing expertise in clinical/forensic/psychology practice.
  • Experience of working effectively in multidisciplinary settings.
  • Supervising others delivering group and individual interventions.
  • Service evaluation.

  • Project/service development experience.
  • Experience working in forensic/secure settings.
  • Providing culturally sensitive interventions.
