Reports to: CEN Clinical Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team for Older People (CMHTOP) in Rotherham. The successful candidate will work with our team to provide specialist support for individuals with complex emotional needs (CEN) in the context of later life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to patients with CEN in the context of later life, working with a broad range of service providers across all tiers of Mental Health Care and with partner agencies to deliver effective interventions that meet the needs of this population.
  • Work closely with our CEN Clinical Lead, Nurse Consultant, Psychologist, and wider cohort of SCM practitioners to develop a bespoke offer for older people.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed, evidence-based support for working-age and older adults with complex emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients with CEN.
  • Participate in regular individual and group clinical supervision and access to specialist training and accreditation in evidence-based treatments for CEN.

Requirements:

  • High level of autonomous practice and competence in decisions about risk and treatment planning.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of mental health acute/crisis work in the community.
  • Ability to work effectively with a broad range of service providers and partner agencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
