Job Summary

SWASFT is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Deputy Medical Director to join their Medical Director team. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and governance support to the team, deputizing for the Medical Director as needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the Medical Director team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Events Medical Cover: Provide medical cover for events and incidents, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
  • Line Management: Line manage Trust Event Doctors, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Medical Director Lead: Act as a Medical Director lead for an ICB area, providing strategic leadership and guidance to the team.
Requirements
  • Experience: Significant experience in the delivery of urgent and emergency care, with a strong background in clinical leadership and governance.
  • Qualifications: Postgraduate medical qualification, such as MRCGP or FRCEM, and current membership of the Performers List or specialist register for Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, or Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
