About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nurse to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality healthcare services to offenders in a prison setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the healthcare team, ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient healthcare services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote and improve health and prevent disease in the prison population.
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload, ensuring the continuity of care and treatment for patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those related to medication management and electronic record-keeping.
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior staff members, including annual appraisals and identification of training needs.
  • Work closely with the prison staff and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of healthcare services and promote a positive working environment.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualification as a Registered General Nurse.
  • NMC Registration.
  • Minimum of two years' experience at Band 5, with experience in acute, community, substance misuse, or prison settings.
  • Experience of multi-professional collaboration, including working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organizations.
  • Experience of setting, monitoring, and evaluating standards of care.
