About the Role

The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Recovery Practitioner/Nurse to join our dynamic team in Theatres at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain a high standard of patient care for a wide variety of procedures, including Orthopaedics, Vascular, Urology, ENT, Maxillofacial, Robotic surgery, EVT, and Mechanical Thrombectomy.
  • Work in accordance with Trust and departmental policies, and participate in the on-call out-of-hours rota.
  • Develop leadership skills and experience in the management of the Theatre Coordinator, leading the team to ensure efficient and effective nursing and theatre practice.
  • Implement appropriate changes based on research and best practice, serving as an effective role model and teaching and mentoring members of the team.
  • Provide and maintain effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, both within and outside the operating departments.
