Job Description

Job Title: Senior Theatre Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Theatre Nurse to join our Theatre Department at Ekhuft. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring efficient and effective use of our Theatre services, and implementing training and development needs of our multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Theatre Operations: Assist with the ongoing organisation of the unit, including responsibility for a designated area of practice within the department on a daily basis, to ensure optimal theatre utilisation at all times.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective managerial and clinical leadership of the departmental staff in conjunction with or in the absence of band 7 Theatre coordinator.
  • Risk Management and Health & Safety: Actively support the process of risk management and health & safety, upholding relevant policies to promote this and ensuring incidents are reported appropriately (in writing) and helping identify ways of preventing errors and accidents to both patients and staff.
  • On-Call Rota: Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Performance Review and Development: Undertake individual performance review and the identification and implementation of personal development plans for junior staff both registered and unregistered.
  • Policy Compliance: Monitor the compliance of all Trust Policies and National Guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified nurse or soon to be qualified Nurse.
  • Experience: Experience in a Theatre Department.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
