Role Overview

  • Title: Holiday Camp Coordinator
  • Reporting to: Operations Manager
  • Contract: Seasonal employment during school breaks.
  • Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM on weekdays. Opportunities for full or part-season roles available.

Position Summary

The Holiday Camp Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective execution of our diverse holiday childcare programs, while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all participants. We seek passionate and skilled individuals dedicated to our mission of 'Inspiring Children Every Day'.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing, motivating, and guiding your team to create engaging and enjoyable holiday camps that emphasize participation, structure, care, and development. You will ensure that all operational policies and procedures are followed, while maintaining communication with parents, school representatives, and the central office. In addition to leading activities, you will contribute to the high standards of care provided by Ultimate Activity Camps.

This role is dynamic and fulfilling, as the experiences of both parents and children depend on your leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a selected team of staff to ensure they deliver the expected quality of care and activities.
  • Motivate your team to provide exceptional activities by exemplifying energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ensure compliance with all camp policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations. This may involve implementing new protocols to maintain a safe environment for all.
  • Conduct staff orientation prior to the commencement of camp.
  • Collaborate with the Early Years Leader to meet regulatory requirements, including liaising with inspectors during evaluations.
  • Maintain communication with the central office regarding updates and any issues that arise.
  • Serve as the primary contact for parents, addressing any concerns in person or via phone.
  • Coordinate with the Host School representatives to ensure seamless camp operations.
  • Manage all administrative tasks, including attendance tracking, staff schedules, and timetable adjustments.
  • Work closely with teams from other specialized programs to ensure smooth operations.
  • Address any challenges that arise in the fast-paced holiday camp environment.
  • Consistently promote the welfare of children in your care, ensuring high-quality childcare that meets diverse needs.
  • Embody the Ultimate Activity Camp ethos of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and demonstrate professionalism throughout your tenure.
  • Exhibit high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, serving as a role model for both children and staff.

Essential Qualifications

  • Qualified or pursuing a qualification in childcare, education, or coaching, with substantial experience working with children.
  • A natural leader with management experience, preferably in holiday camps, childcare, education, or coaching.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on face-to-face customer service. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with parents and school staff.
  • Familiarity with camp activities, with a willingness to step in as needed.
  • Decisive and capable of making informed judgments quickly.
  • Proactive and adaptable, able to respond to changing situations effectively.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Possession of a Pediatric First Aid qualification (12-hour or 6-hour).
