An exciting opportunity has emerged for individuals to assume the role of PNC Operations Coordinator within the 24/7 PNC Bureau at Essex Police Headquarters.

In this role, you will engage in a rotational shift pattern that covers 24/7 throughout the year, as part of a versatile and dynamic team. Your primary responsibility will be to support operational law enforcement by managing and responding to inquiries and communications related to the Police National Computer, Athena, and other police record systems.

The PNC Bureau is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data within the Police National Computer (PNC) and providing a prompt and effective inquiry and update service regarding the system. This includes the management of data storage and the dissemination of information held on the PNC, along with other associated systems, all processed in compliance with legislative requirements and policies to support the effective delivery of operational policing objectives.

A new and evolving aspect of this role is the integration of the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS), which is being gradually implemented across all forces nationwide. As a new member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful integration of this new system into our operational practices, thereby supporting the overall objectives of the force.

This position offers a 20% shift allowance, in addition to enhancements for weekend work.

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in information gathering and analytical review to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Ability to approach challenges with an open mind and innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in office technology, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Benefits Include:

  • 23 days of annual leave (pro-rata for part-time roles), increasing with service.
  • Ongoing training, development, and promotional opportunities, with the chance to acquire additional skills within the command, enabling you to provide essential support in a fast-paced environment when necessary.
  • Enrollment in the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Free parking, subject to availability.
  • Discounts at various retailers and restaurants.
  • Discounted outings through our Sports and Social Association.
  • Support and guidance from our staff associations.
  • Access to Health Services through our in-house Occupational Health and Welfare team.

Essex Police offers incremental salary increases within this band, with the potential to reach a maximum of £27,351.00.
