Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced secretary to provide administrative support to our busy department. The successful candidate will be responsible for typing clinical letters and reports, booking appointments, and dealing with incoming queries.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive and confidential patient-centred clinical administration and secretarial service to the Oral and Maxillofacial Department.
  • Typing clinic letters and reports as necessary, booking, arranging and re-arranging clinic appointments as appropriate.
  • Assist colleagues when others are on leave or absent, working on their own initiative and prioritizing their workload accordingly.
  • Ensure that patients' RTT coding is appropriately logged as necessary.
Requirements
  • Good general education (GCSE English and Maths A-C) and Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment.
  • Experience of dealing with the public/customer service experience, working with a range of Microsoft Office packages, and using IT systems.
  • AMSPAR Medical Terminology and experience of working in the NHS.
