About the Role

We are seeking an Associate to join our Client Solutions & Analytics team in London. Our team brings to bear PIMCO's intellectual capital, resources, and proprietary infrastructure to help our clients make better investment decisions.

Team Overview

Our team partners with a diverse range of clients across all geographies and channels. We strive to generate practical investment insights for clients in a range of ways, including performing customized analyses, publishing research, and building tailored strategies across asset classes in both public and private markets. The team's 100+ members span multiple global offices and specialties while working closely with a number of PIMCO teams, including Account Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Product Specialists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in the delivery of asset allocation and risk management solutions to clients and prospects – both in assets-only and in ALM space - working closely with senior members in the team, Account Management, Product Management, and Portfolio Management as required.
  • Use proprietary software and external data sources to run risk analytics, optimizations, economic scenario analyses, and stress tests.
  • Help build presentation books that detail PIMCO's analysis and recommendations.
  • Maintain marketing and thematic materials such as presentation books and other general education materials.
  • Perform risk management, attribution, and other product analysis reports on a periodic basis as required.
  • Support senior Strategists and Quantitative Research Analysts to generate thought leadership: build models and generate intellectual capital for PIMCO's Solutions activities.
  • Manage a workload of multiple simultaneous client projects, while ensuring that deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of meaningful work experience, preferably in investment consulting, although backgrounds from buy-side and sell-side institutions will also be considered.
  • Robust quantitative and analytical skills, modeling, and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Fluency in English with another European language desirable.
  • Passion for financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment management.
  • Proven general investment knowledge across an array of asset classes.
  • Strong results orientation and an ability to run multiple agendas concurrently.
  • Proactive, well-organized, high-energy self-starter who works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to tackle sophisticated problems efficiently to a tight deadline in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Ideally working towards industry-recognized qualification such as CFA, CAIA, FIA.
