Overview of the Position

Global Compensation Analyst - 12 Month Fixed Term Engagement

Location: Hybrid/Flexible Work Environment

This position is centered on the development, execution, and dissemination of the compensation framework at National Grid, encompassing salary structures, the Annual Performance Plan (APP), and the Long-Term Performance Plan (LTPP) processes, along with the company's recognition initiatives.
The role will assist the global compensation manager in executing these essential processes and driving policy enhancements, process improvements, and various project tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the ongoing development, execution, and enhancement of the global compensation framework. Serve as a reliable consultant to People Partners and internal stakeholders by providing best practice insights on global compensation to guide business decisions. This includes engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the compensation structure is relevant, comprehensible, and valued. Develop an effective communication strategy for all global compensation policies and processes to ensure clarity and reach the appropriate audiences through: Acting as the PMO for all reward-related communications; Engaging with various stakeholders to determine the most effective communication methods; and Enhancing colleague understanding and awareness of the global compensation framework through the creation of user-friendly documents and materials (such as videos and demonstrations). Assist in refining the Annual Performance Plan (annual bonus) for National Grid by establishing a new target-setting and year-end announcement process. Aid the team in drafting global compensation policy documentation that outlines roles, responsibilities, processes, and key deliverables. Support the team during the annual compensation cycle by ensuring tools are effective and that accurate data has been processed through the system. Analyze legislation and tax regulations governing global compensation to ensure all policies and processes are compliant with legal standards.

Candidate Profile

Required Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in global compensation. Comprehensive knowledge of the global compensation landscape, including awareness of diverse practices, precedents, insights, and sophisticated concepts. Proficient in advanced Excel skills and capable of drawing meaningful conclusions from data analysis to support decision-making for reports and presentations. Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders confidently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in relation to global compensation. Relevant external qualifications (preferred). Familiarity with SuccessFactors (preferred). Strong networking and collaboration abilities. Results-oriented mindset. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits Offered

A competitive salary range of £45,000 – £55,000, based on qualifications and experience.

In addition to the base salary, you will be eligible for a performance-based bonus and a competitive contributory pension scheme, where the company will double match your contributions up to a maximum of 12%.
