Operational Technology Security Advisor

Location: Remote

Compensation: Competitive daily rate

We are looking for an experienced Operational Technology Security Advisor to join our organization and assist our clients in safeguarding their operational technology infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in operational technology systems, information security, and risk assessment, particularly within sectors such as energy, water management, and gas distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive risk evaluations of operational technology settings to uncover potential vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Formulate and execute risk management frameworks and mitigation strategies.
  • Design, deploy, and oversee cybersecurity protocols specifically tailored for operational technology systems.
  • Guarantee the incorporation of security measures into the operational technology networks and systems.
  • Create and sustain incident response strategies tailored to operational technology environments.
  • Lead and assist in incident response initiatives, encompassing analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443, NIST).
  • Conduct routine audits and evaluations to maintain ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and implement training initiatives to enhance cybersecurity awareness among operational technology personnel.
  • Offer guidance and best practices for the secure operation and maintenance of operational technology systems.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and operational technology teams to ensure a unified cybersecurity approach.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, technical teams, and external partners.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of operational technology systems and networks (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLCs).
  • Solid grasp of cybersecurity principles and practices pertinent to operational technology environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards relevant to operational technology.
