Job Overview

As a Wind Energy Service Technician, you will be integral to the effective functioning, upkeep, and repair of wind turbines within our operational fleet. Your primary responsibilities will include performing regular inspections, diagnosing issues, executing repairs, and upholding safety protocols to enhance turbine efficiency. You will be required to travel to various locations for servicing and maintaining our wind turbine fleet, adhering to a two-week work schedule followed by two weeks off. A valid right to work in the EU without restrictions is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance & Diagnostics
  • Carry out scheduled inspections and maintenance on onshore wind turbines.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or technical problems affecting turbine operations.
  • Execute repairs or component replacements to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, equipment conditions, and service documentation.
  • Engage in special projects, including turbine commissioning, major component replacements, and other initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, technological innovations, and best practices in wind turbine operations.
  • Client Interaction
  • Maintain communication with clients on-site, providing updates regarding service status.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
  • Ensure the quality of all components related to wind turbines and understand the interconnections within the system.
  • Be accountable for the safe operation of both electrical and mechanical systems within the turbines.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work alongside engineering and operational teams to implement enhancements and optimize turbine performance.
  • Focus on improving the performance of our wind turbine fleet through analysis of operational data and response times.
  • Occasionally collaborate with the control room for remote monitoring of turbines globally.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the right to work in the EU without restrictions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in electrical or mechanical fields related to wind turbine maintenance are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems as they pertain to wind turbines.
  • Ability to work at heights and in diverse weather conditions, demonstrating physical fitness.
  • Proficient in utilizing technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Strong commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical or electrical systems, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
