Operational Work Area Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Work Area Manager to join our team at the Bristol Mail Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of manual and automated areas within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated team of 20+ full and part-time employees, providing regular one-to-one and team meetings to review performance and plans.
  • Hold line management responsibility for team's sick absence, attendance, and training, while engaging with the team to drive performance.
  • Implement health and safety initiatives, increase efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support the Shift Manager in providing a high-quality service to our customers and ensuring operational targets are met.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing and supporting a large team to maximise performance.
  • Excellent people skills, with good communication and ability to engage and motivate team members.
  • Target-focused with a track record of improving performance and achieving KPIs.
  • Experience of introducing change and successfully leading people through change.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills, with ability to use data to identify trends in performance and develop solutions.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders to achieve business benefits.
