Work Schedule: The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

This position may be subject to early closure based on the volume of applications received. We encourage candidates to submit their applications promptly.

As part of our commitment to employee well-being, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours starting from April 2024, with no alterations to salary. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. It is important to note that while this new working schedule will be implemented, some service areas may require temporary adjustments, necessitating up to an additional 30 minutes of work per week until the transition is fully realized.

The Greater Glasgow and Clyde Adult Eating Disorder Service is a specialized unit focused on supporting adults experiencing moderate to severe eating disorders. This service is led by psychology professionals and consists of a multidisciplinary team, including Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Dietitians, and Occupational Therapists. We provide both individual and group therapy sessions, along with consultations for other services working with eating disorders in various settings.

The successful candidate will engage in both clinical and research/audit tasks aligned with service needs, under the guidance of a Clinical Psychologist. Clinical responsibilities will encompass both individual and group therapy. Collaboration with the community AEDS team and networking with other assistants across the organization will be encouraged.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Psychology, recognized by the British Psychological Society, with a minimum classification of 2:1 is essential. While prior experience as an assistant and familiarity with eating disorders is advantageous, it is not mandatory. A genuine interest in the field of eating disorders is beneficial. Candidates should exhibit exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. This role is ideal for individuals aspiring to advance their careers in Psychology, providing valuable experience for those considering the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.
