Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 individuals across a diverse array of clinical and non-clinical roles. Our organization is dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support to a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

Work Schedule: The standard working hours are Monday to Friday.

In alignment with NHS Scotland's initiative to reduce the full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours, effective from April 2024, this change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff without affecting remuneration. It is important to note that some service areas may not immediately transition to the new working hours, and temporary adjustments may require working up to an additional 30 minutes per week until service rosters are updated.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the psychological care provided to clients by delivering psychological assessments and interventions under the guidance of a qualified clinical psychologist. Responsibilities include:

  • Working independently according to an established plan within the framework of service policies.
  • Preparing materials for therapy sessions and implementing various psychological therapies.
  • Participating in case conferences and multi-disciplinary meetings while collaborating with other professionals.
  • Conducting psychometric assessments, audits, and service evaluations.
  • Assisting clinical psychologists and other professionals in their duties.

Experience with Positive Behavioural Support is advantageous, particularly for those working with individuals with learning disabilities. Familiarity with clinical risk assessment is also beneficial.

Inclusivity Commitment: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde actively encourages applications from all community sectors, fostering a culture of inclusion and valuing our diverse workforce.

By endorsing the Armed Forces Covenant, we affirm our commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer, recognizing military skills and experiences during the recruitment process.

For any inquiries regarding the recruitment process, please refer to the Candidate Information Packs.
