Work Schedule: The standard shift pattern is Monday to Friday.

As part of the ongoing improvements in work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any alteration in remuneration. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. Please note that while this new working week will be implemented, some service areas may require a temporary extension of up to 30 minutes per week until they can fully transition to the new schedule. Role Overview: The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the psychological care provided to clients within our service. This will involve delivering psychological interventions and assessments under the guidance of a qualified clinical psychologist. Additionally, the post holder will operate independently following an established plan, adhering to the overarching policies and procedures of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing materials for therapy sessions
  • Administering a variety of psychological therapies
  • Participating in case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings
  • Collaborating with other professionals
  • Conducting psychometric assessments
  • Engaging in audits and service evaluations
  • Supporting the work of clinical psychologists and other professionals

Experience with Positive Behavioural Support is highly advantageous, particularly for those working with individuals with learning disabilities. Familiarity with clinical risk assessment will also be beneficial.
